As fans of the 26-year-old will know, Cara tragically suffered a miscarriage last year – making this pregnancy all the more precious. In her exclusive blog for Closer Online, former TOWIE star Cara documents the final leg of her journey from bump to baby.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for their supportive messages throughout the year after my late miscarriage. I receive direct messages on a daily basis from my followers either thanking me for sharing my story which gave them hope in believing that their time will come again or to see if I can offer any advice on how to get through something so traumatic and how to conceive so quickly after.

“The truth is afterwards, I cried so much about what had just happened to us that I couldn’t even think about the future.

“For me, there was no future - everything we had dreamt about in the past five months had been shattered. We were no longer becoming the parents we were talking about, but becoming parents of a baby we had loved and lost.

“The most amazing feeling was finding out we had fallen pregnant again nine weeks after our tragedy; everything had just fallen back into place for us so soon.

“I didn’t publicly announce my pregnancy until I had reached the 20 week mark as this was the stage we lost our angel baby back in February 2015. Mentally, I was a nervous wreck up until that date and as much as I tried to be positive and put on a brave face, I went to bed every night with the worry of ‘What if it happens to me again?’

“Once we passed the 20 weeks, I began to relax a little and wanted to start enjoying my pregnancy as I was now half-way through.

Cara and Daniel are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their baby – but she's secretly hoping he/she will hold off until Valentine's Day!

“Motivational quotes really helped me through our loss and of course the support from my family and close friends did too. My advice to anyone who has recently lost a baby is:

  1. Stay strong - not only for yourself but for your partner. I sometimes think that the men try and stay so strong for their partner that it goes a little unnoticed that they are also suffering the same heartbreak

  2. Keep positive - A negative mind won’t bring positivity to any situation.

  3. There are so many people that either have been or are in the same boat as you. It wasn’t until something like this happened to us that people came forward to me with their stories. Talk to other people who have been through the same tragedy as you, you don’t realise how much it helps to know you’re not the only one.

“On a happier note… We’ve got three weeks left and realistically the baby can come at any time now so we have to be prepared. This means no pub trips for Daniel as he could be needed as the driver at any time!

“My hospital bags are packed and by the door, my Be Safe Car Seat is installed in the car and we're ready to go… My due date is 7 February and, as much as I don’t want to go overdue with our baby, I secretly hope the baby will be born seven days late so we have a Valentines Baby… Now that would be romantic!
