She is one of the biggest Love Island success stories, winning the series in 2016, and six years on, is now a happily married mum-of-two.

But Cara De La Hoyde-Massey, 32, reveals life has changed drastically since she starred on the show – and so has her relationship with husband Nathan Massey, 30.

“I don’t get out a lot now,” says Cara, who shares son, Freddie-George, four, and daughter, Delilah, two, with the builder.

“And we don’t really have date nights any more. We’d like to, but getting someone to babysit is tricky, especially when you’ve got two very excitable children.”

Although Cara is still smitten with Nathan, saying, “He’s a really good dad and is minding them right now,” it appears nights out are not the only thing to have taken a backseat.

“We don’t really have sex, to be honest. We don’t do it enough. It’s been a while,” confesses Cara. But she insists their marriage is far from stale!

“Believe it or not, for a little guy, Nathan’s well-trained, and he’s very enthusiastic, but it’s just finding the time,” she laughs.

“Once we’ve put the kids to sleep, and get into bed ourselves, it’s 11pm, and I don’t want anyone to touch me. I just want to go to sleep, and I think so many mums feel the same. They’re just so overwhelmed.”

Cara and Nathan – who starred in series two alongside Malin Andersson and former Miss Great Britain, Zara Holland, along with another successful Love Island couple, Olivia and Alex Bowen – paired up in the very first episode of the show and couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They even had sex under the covers on the Spanish island as the cameras rolled.

Despite breaking up nine months after being crowned the show’s winners and scooping the £50,000 prize money – while Cara was pregnant with their first child, Freddie – they eventually got back together, and went from strength to strength.

In 2018, Nathan popped the question in the famous villa where they first met, and a year later they walked down the aisle during a lavish ceremony, which included TOWIE’s Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou as guests.

They welcomed daughter Delilah in 2020, but while Cara maintains motherhood is the best thing to ever happen to her, she isn’t keen on adding to her brood. She says, “I can’t see myself having any more kids right now. I’ve always been open about my depression and anxiety. Plus, I’ve been on antidepressants since I was 16, and for my own mental capacity, I don’t think I’d be able to have another child – it would be too much.

“Two children is hard work, so can you imagine three? I’m not saying no, but I might wait until they’re a bit older.”

The former circus performer reveals she struggled after the birth of her daughter.

“I got a little bit of postnatal depression with Delilah. It took me a long time to be comfortable and happy, and it’s not because I’ve had depression for years. It’s finding the time to spend with both children and be with my partner and work, so I think it’s all about balance,” she reflects.

What’s more, the reality star insists she won’t freeze her eggs as a back-up plan, because she already feels so blessed.

“I don’t think I would go down that route because I’ve already got a boy and a girl, and I’m very lucky I have two healthy children. Therefore, if another baby is meant to happen – it will,” she explains.

And despite winning Love Island, Cara didn’t watch this year’s show, which saw 5 million viewers tuning into its launch episode.

“I haven’t watched Love Island for years – I don’t want to look at 18-year-olds in bikinis,” she quips.

Pressed on whether she’d ever consider hosting it, she admits, “Of course I would – I’ve got a mortgage to pay. But I’m 32, and they’d probably be like, ‘Who is this woman?’ I’d give it a really good go though.”
