She’s been the face of countless modelling campaigns, but now Caprice Bourret has finished filming her first movie and is loving life as an accomplished actress. The 53-year-old – who shares 11-year-old sons Jett and Jax with husband Ty Comfort – recently filmed her holiday romcom, A European Christmas, alongside hunky leading man Philip Boyd, and she’s already making her next flick.
Caprice exclusively tells Closer, ‘The film has The Holiday vibes. It’s so great and so is my co-star, Philip.
‘Luckily, my husband didn’t feel nervous with me having a hunky co-star. Ty stayed for the first eight days of filming and then he did a runner, he said, “I’m bored, I’m out of here!” It only took 14 days to film. We went to Serbia to film and then we drove two hours to Zlatibor, which is a nearby holiday resort. I fell madly in love with the place – that’s why I wanted to do a movie there. You have to have so much organisation to do these movies in such a short time – I could do anything now.’
And shooting her second Christmas movie has put Caprice in the festive spirit as she reveals the halls of her Notting Hill home (which was once a nightclub) have been firmly decked as she’s filming from the Grade II-listed property.
‘My house looks like Santa’s Wonderland at the moment as we’re shooting a scene for my new movie,’ she says. ‘There’s Christmas trees, garlands and lights everywhere. I’ve got another hot co-star and one of my sons is making a cameo.’
But she won’t be opening her presents at home, instead heading back to California where she was born and raised.
‘It will be a sunny Christmas for us – I’m all for that. I’m not sure what I’m getting for Christmas, but what girl wouldn’t want diamonds?’ she laughs.
And while the American star is going home – she says she can’t see Prince Harry, who has children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, with wife Meghan Markle – returning to the UK for festivities.
Caprice says, ‘No one can sort out Meghan – are you joking? They are not remotely popular in the States. I don’t think they can make it in the US, people avoid them like the plague.
‘It’s difficult for Harry to come back now because Meghan is his wife, and he has kids in the US. We’d love to have the old Harry back, but he’s got a family now. It’s hard because they are the most famous family in the world.
‘I have a lot of empathy for them, but I think Meghan has dug her grave and now she has to lie in it.’
Since rising to fame in the 1990s, Caprice has been widely referred to as one of the most photographed women in the world and has graced the cover of over 350 magazines.
Her time in the spotlight has seen her date high-profile men, including ex-England cricket player Kevin Pieterson, rockstar Rod Stewart and Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt.
Caprice admits that, these days, finding time to be intimate with Ty can be difficult – but says watching her Christmas movie is the perfect time to warm each other up.
‘There’s nothing better than a good romp while watching a Christmas movie! I’m in a really good relationship and that makes a really big difference,’ she says.
Laughing, she adds, ‘We have screaming, demanding kids so it’s hard – you have to make appointments.’
Although three decades have passed since Caprice made her debut as one of the world’s top models, she looks better than ever in her 50s and shares her beauty secrets with Closer.
The model – who has her own lingerie range with Peacocks called ‘Loved By Caprice’ – says, ‘My secret is Botox. I can’t live without it. I once had fillers underneath my eyes and looked like a blow fish. I said, “Take this sh*t out of me now!”
‘I’ve lost around a stone recently – I started to gain weight and I felt gross. I was working at the office and not getting out to exercise. If I sit on my bum, I put on weight.
‘It was getting harder to walk up the stairs. I’ve had to completely re-jig my eating habits but now I’m on a good path.’
Discussing how food also plays a part in maintaining her incredible physique, Caprice adds, ‘I follow a high-protein diet, but I’ve completely cut out red meat. I eat a lot of vegetables. I don’t eat after 6pm – that’s a game changer. I have a personal trainer three times a week and I walk lots. It’s a stress reliever and good for your mind, too.’
