The 31-year-old reacted when Malik, who recently split from fiancé Perrie Edwards, posted a comparison between Miley Cyrus and Calvin’s girl, Taylor.

In the tweet Taylor and Miley’s attitudes on music were compared, with Taylor withdrawing her music from Spotify, while Miley said: ‘I’ve made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It’s fine.’

Seemingly agreeing with Miley’s side of things, Zayn wrote: ‘G statement’ - which Harris was quick to puck up on.

‘If u don’t get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry…’ Calvin began.

‘While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there’s some poor f***er in a basement making your new favourite record trying to survive.’

‘….stay out my f***in mentions pls.’

‘Meaning…Stay out of things you don’t understand.’

But Zayn, not one to stay silent, hit back at Calvin, telling him: ‘ha you just make an absolute fool of yourself mate.’

‘You clearly don’t understand what I just said either.’

‘so i suggest you calm your knockers before them dentures fall out.’

He then added: ‘Oh and I write my own s*** too d***head.’

Calvin meanwhile, rose above Zayn’s comments to tell him: ‘all good, it was the quote not you personally mate.’

‘best of luck, genuinely. You’ve got a great voice.’

Zayn has yet to respond. Something tells us he won’t be any time soon.
