The show confirmed they were dropping the actor this weekend
Coronation Street star Bruno Langley has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
The actor, who has played Todd Grimshaw on the famous cobbles since 2001, was confirmed to have left the show this weekend following an inquiry. Reports alleged that Bruno had assault a woman at the bar in the Northern Quarter, Manchester, although this was not confirmed and Bruno denied the allegations against him.
Many fans were in shock when they read about the allegations against the star, but as more details have emerged the police have confirmed that they are charging the 34-year-old.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Great Manchester Police said: “Bruno Langley has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28 November 2017.
“At around 1am on Sunday 1st October 2017, police received a report that a woman in her 30s had been sexually assaulted at a music venue on Swan Street in the Northern Quarter.”
This weekend ITV confirmed that Bruno was no longer a part of the soap, releasing a statement saying: “Bruno Langley is no longer contracted to Coronation Street.”
While Bruno denies the charges against him, he has said that he will release a statement ‘in due course.’
Of leaving Coronation Street, Bruno said: “Playing the role of Todd Grimshaw since I was 17 years old has been a huge part of my life, and an absolute honour.
“I would like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period.
“I will make a further statement in due course, and when I am able to do so.
