Heartbroken Britney Spears told fans she’s using music to help heal from her tragic miscarriage last week after announcing she’d lost her “miracle baby”.

Just a month after revealing she was expecting her third child – her first with her 28-year-old fiancé, Sam Asghari– the pop princess, 40, told her 41.2 million Instagram followers, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.

“This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along. However, we were overly excited to share the good news.”

The singer –who shares sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, 43 – added, “Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”

Britney’s miscarriage comes just six months after the troubled star was freed from the 14-year conservatorship which gave her father, Jamie Spears, 68, full control over her £60 million fortune and personal life, following her highly publicised breakdown in 2007.

But her victory has been marred by a bitter feud with her mother, Lynn, 67, and father, who she called to be jailed for “conservatorship abuse.” She has also endured a toxic and very public fall-out with her younger sister, Jamie-Lynn, 31, over a string of “hurtful claims” about the star in her tell-all book.

And while insiders tell Closer Britney is being supported by Sam and her newly hand-picked team, they say she can’t help fearing her much-longed-for freedom has been cursed.

Opening up to her Instagram followers last week, the star posted a snap of her dancing to Beyoncé’s hit Halo, which she captioned, “I’m definitely going through something in my life at the moment… and music helps me so much just to gain insight and perspective.”

A source says, “Britney’s loss has sparked concern, given her already fragile mental state, and she’s understandably very up and down, which is of course natural given the tragedy she’s suffered. But she is incredibly resilient and while this has hit her hard – more so than anyone imagined – she’s doing everything she can to keep herself in a positive mindset. She has understandably been very tearful though, and there have been dark moments, where she’s questioned why the world seems to be constantly throwing her another hurdle when she’s already faced so much.”

Britney has made no secret of her longing to start a family with her fitness trainer beau – who she met on the set of her 2016 Slumber Party video – since her explosive court testimony last June, when she claimed her conservatorship forbid her from having her IUD (contraceptive device) removed.

The Toxic singer told the judge, “I want to be able to get married and have a baby.”

In the months leading up to her pregnancy announcement, the mum of two continued to share her baby fever with fans – light-heartedly suggesting that she’d given birth to a baby girl and telling fans that she and Sam were planning to “have babies in Polynesia” during a romantic getaway to the tropical island.

The source says, “This was something Britney had been dreaming of for so long and when she finally found out she was pregnant, she was on cloud nine. She’s gone from elation to heartbreak in just a matter of days.

“She was so excited to announce her happy news and had already started designing the nursery, picking out clothes and prepping the house for a newborn.”

Now, pals say that the singer is taking comfort in the hope that she will fall pregnant again soon.

The source adds, “While Brit is understandably in a dark place, she’s also in a much better situation now she’s out of the conservatorship. She has a team of people around her who she trusts implicitly and knows have her genuine best interests at heart.

“She’s focusing on preparing her body to fall pregnant again and is hoping that it won’t take long. She is praying that the worst is behind her and that after everything she’s been through, they’ll get their happily ever after and she will become a mum again in the next year.”
