Just a week after it emerged that her sons were moving to Hawaii, insiders say Britney Spears is now planning to head out there for a family showdown.

It was reported last week that Britney’s ex-husband, Kevin Federline, 45, and her estranged sons, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, were prepping to move to the tropical islands.

An insider says, “Britney is so stung by this situation, it makes her sick to her stomach that she’s essentially being ghosted by her own flesh and blood. There are days she feels stronger about it, hopeful that Sean and Jayden will see the light and reach out to her by their own choice, but she’s starting to think her only option is to head out there and talk to them face to face. Desperate times call for desperate measures – they’re her flesh and blood, and they can’t run from her forever.”

Back in 2007, the couple’s divorce – after a two-year marriage – saw a court grant Kevin sole custody of both boys. The following year, Britney, 41, was hospitalised after refusing to return her sons after visitation – a move which, along with a run-in with a paparazzi, led to her conservatorship. This saw Britney’s father, Jamie – who said he always had her best interests at heart – take full control over her life, with the star alleging she was put on birth control and forced to tour during the decade-long battle.

But while her conservatorship came to an end in 2021, tensions between Britney and her sons have only intensified. Last year, Jayden revealed he had not seen his estranged mother in over a year, and admitted he found her explicit Instagram posts – in which she can be seen topless and naked writhing around – “tough” to handle. He said, “I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.”

Meanwhile, in a lengthy Instagram post in response, Britney wrote, “I don’t understand how it’s so easy for them to cut me off like that, I just don’t understand it.”

The source adds, “Britney has shed so many tears, lost sleep and felt gutted about this for too long. That’s why she wants to take the bull by the horns and deal with this situation head-on, asking the kids to their faces what she’s done to cause them to cut her off. She loves Hawaii, it’s her happy place and number-one location to go and chill. It’s not as though she needs much of an excuse to hop on a plane and get over there.

“It doesn’t seem to occur to her that she’ll likely be walking into a serious firestorm – Kevin and the boys could be horrified when she rocks up on their doorstep, and it could get messy. But she’s looking at the whole thing with hope.”
