It wasn't."Obviously things have been challenging in my personal life but we are getting things sorted."

The outspoken dancer was well-known on the show for his headstrong attitude, and was quite often criticised by viewers for appearing rude to the judges.

It was speculated that the reason Brendan had been booted off the show was because of his spat with new head judge Strictly Ballas, who he exchanged a couple of cross words with during the last series of the show.

However, The Sun have now reported that the REAL reason for the axe is because of Brendan's behaviour at filming for the Christmas special last year, which saw Brendan completely ignore royal protocol to dance with Camilla Parker Bowles.

It had apparently been long decided that Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood, who is a friend of Camilla's, would dance with her while the other dancers on the show paired up with guests.

But Brendan took matters into his own hands, and decided to dance with her anyway.

EEK.

A senior Strictly source told the publication that all the dancers had been given "an extremely clear briefing."

They said: "It was a tea dance in aid of an osteoporosis charity encouraging older people to stay active and each of the professionals was to pair up with the guests while Craig danced with Camilla.

"But Brendan being Brendan had to make it about him and ignored everyone and made a beeline for Camilla - who politely didn’t cause a scene."

The source added that everyone in attendance had been "outraged by the cheek of his actions", adding that "he always has to be centre of attention."

They revealed that that was "the final straw" as "they just realised he couldn’t be controlled."

Brendan, clearly oblivious to Camilla's discomfort, posted a picture of himself dancing with her on his Instagram, writing: "I love this. I asked the delightful Duchess of Cornwall if it was ok to ask her, to ask her to dance? Luckily she said yes to both. What a charming host and a wonderful day."

But Brendan has now hit back at the claims, telling OK! Online via a spokesperson: "I can confirm that these assertions are absolutely, categorically untrue. There was no such brief from BBC."

A spokesperson from Clarence House said: "The Duchess thoroughly enjoyed her dance with Brendan just as much as she did her dance with Craig."

Uh oh...
