Speaking to the court, Thomas told the hearing that Peaches was a heroin addict who had been taking the substitute drug methadone in the two and a half years before her death, but began taking heroin once more earlier this year.

A Sky News reporter on the scene recounted that Peaches was found dead surrounded by drugs paraphernalia, with puncture woulds to her elbows and left hand.

A bag containing 350-500 pounds worth of heroin was also found at the property in Wrotham, Kent.

Cohen told the court he had seen Peaches flushing drugs she had hidden in their Kent home down the toilet, and that she had indeed been using in the months before her death, but had tried to hide this from him.

The inquest also heard that Peaches' tolerance to the drug had decreased after a few months seeking treatment, meaning when she took the heroin in her house (which had a purity of 60%), the dose proved fatal.

Peaches was found dead at her Kent home on April 7 with her 11-month-old son by her side. She left behind a husband and two young children.

After hearing the evidence the coroner concluded he would have to count the death as drugs related.
