The remaining members Keith Duffy, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch performed together two years after Stephen passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Band member Mikey has now suggested that the timing of their reunion wasn’t right and that they should have waited until they were 100% ready.

He said: ‘We did a tour about two and a half years ago, our first tour after Stephen passed away, and we were all very emotionally unstable. We hadn't grieved correctly at all. It was quite awful to be honest with you.’

Stephen passed away in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

The band are set to reform for one off TV special entitled ‘No Matter What’ to mark 20 years of Boyzone.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph he continued: ‘I think it was a bad idea. Looking back on it now, I didn't enjoy the tour. I think we all felt that. Now we're ready.’
