Matters were allegedly made worse by a fight with partner Nick Gordon, which lead to him moving out of the Atlanta townhouse he shares with 21-year-old Bobbi.

A source told US Weekly: “She was depressed and very upset.”

Bobbi was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home, just weeks before the third anniversary of mother Whitney Houston’s death.

In text messages reportedly sent before she was hospitalised, Bobbi broke down over the loss of her mother, who died in strikingly similar circumstances.

The source added: “Whitney’s death hit her harder than anyone will ever know.”

RadarOnline claimed to have obtained the text messages, sent to a family friend. Bobbi is said to have written: “Despite the fame, the fortune, the power – any and everything, my mother has done FOR ME lady.

Bobbi was moved to Emory University Hospital at the beginning of this week, and is still in a medically induced coma.

In a shock twist of events, her father Bobby Brown, 45, released a statement insisting Bobbi and Nick were never married, despite the pair conforming the news themselves last year via Twitter.
