"This week I’ve been practising the BBB routine [Bath Bottle Bed], which my Midwife told me is important to try and get Arlo into, and I have to say it’s starting to work for me.
Arlo has a feed around 7pm or 8pm, then half an hour after his feed I give him a relaxing bath – (relaxing meaning no play time or splashing, which I found hard as we love bath time but it’s important to get him relaxed and ready for bed).
As for the bottle part of the routine, I think after buying every single brand of bottle and testing them out without fail the best bottles are Dr Browns.
The Dr Browns bottles have a vent system that allows the air to flow freely through the bottle and stops your baby from swallowing air so helps to avoid them getting wind, discomfort and colic.
Finally, I get Arlo dressed for bed and always put him in a night time baby grow. My favourite brand is Kissy Kissy which from my Instagram you will see Arlo is regularly dressed in day and night.
Arlo had his injections this week and I was feeling so anxious as I watched the large needle inject into my little baby.
I know it’s for the best but next time I’m definitely making Andy come with me. We’re so happy that my sister Giorgie is pregnant with her 2nd boy – soon we can start up our own 5-aside football team if we all keep having boys.
I’ve started teaching classes again at my Bikram Yoga Essex studio and I still have some baby weight to lose. I really want to get my body back but don’t want to feel pressured into losing it in an unrealistic time frame.
My priority is looking after Arlo and as any new mum will know it’s not always easy to find the time to focus on getting your body back as when I’m at work I’m busy running the studio and don’t get the chance to take part in as many classes as I’d like.
I’m starting baby yoga classes this week which I’m of course really excited for and I’ll tell you next week how that goes.
