'I've been used to being around gay people all my life'
5ive’s Ritchie Neville and 911’s Lee Brennan have stripped off for the Gay Times.
The pair, who both reformed with their pop groups after enjoying success in the 90s, were photographed nude by photographer Dylan Rosser.
In the accompanying interview, 5ive star Ritchie opened up about speculation from fans that he's gay.
He said: ‘A lot of people did presume I was [gay], men would come on to me all the time. But my mum's brother was a raving queen who was really flamboyant and funny, so I've been used to being around gay people all my life.
‘I was raised with a very liberal attitude and 'gay' has never been a dirty word in our house. But I've never been tempted to experiment with my sexuality; I've always been quite certain from an early age what I am.’
Fellow boyband star Lee also claimed people thought he was gay when he first shot to fame with 911.
He said: ‘There's usually one gay member in every boyband, and people assumed because I was quite sensitive, that it was me, but we've always had gay fans.’
Alex Reid, Robin Windsor, Dan Neal and Jake Quickenden also appear in the Gay Times' annual naked issue which is raising money for the National AIDS Trust, to coincide with World AIDS Day on December 1st. Both print and digital versions are on sale now.
