With the Britain’s Got Talent semi finals on the way one judge in particular had a few things to say in regards to the XFactors Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s - It seems as though a battle of the pop stars might be brewing.

Alesha Dixon is preparing for her big pop comeback! She’s taking to the stage to perform her new single The Way We Are on the live semi-finals of the ITV talent show - and unlike Cheryl she’s doing it live.

The 36-year-old judge said: "I'm not afraid [of singing live]. In the past Cheryl has been given a bit of stick, but we're different artists."

Alesha is never one to shy away from a challenge. "I always sing live, that's standard for me. It's my job so that's why I have to got to look after myself."

Alesha claims her and Cheryl are different artists.

This past week Alesha also took to defending BGT who has come under fire for having too many foreign acts.

The star hit back at the critics by saying: “I just think who cares? I’m so sick, tired and bored of hearing people complaining about foreign acts or whether they have been on another show. Who cares? Firstly, everyone deserves a second chance. Secondly, I don’t think it would be fair or kind to discriminate against anyone who wants to enter the show.

"I just think with life, and especially the entertainment industry, one door closes and another opens. It’s the nature of the beast.”

We couldn’t have said it better Alesha!

Tune in tonight at 8pm for the first instalment of the BGT semi finals on ITV.
