Beyonce uploaded the photo onto her Instagram page with the caption: ‘New Orleans May 17th 2014.’
Beyonce rarely captions her photographs, making the snap all the more telling.
The photo comes after the release of a video which shows Solange physically attacking Beyonce’s rapper husband in a lift following the Met Gala.
After speculation, fuelled by cryptic uploads onto Instagram, the family released a statement.
It read: ‘As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.’
‘But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. ‘
‘Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred.’
‘They both have apologised to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.’
‘The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behaviour throughout that evening are simply false.’
‘At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different.’
The statement did not address rumours surrounding Beyonce’s removal of her wedding ring tattoo, which has prompted speculation that Beyonce and Jay Z’s relationship may reportedly be on the rocks.
