Don’t you just hate the stress of trying to buy tickets for a concert? You wait a long time for the tickets to go on sale and when they do they’re sold out within minutes.
Then you either don’t get tickets, do get tickets but they are way up in the gods (and you can’t even see anything) or if you’re really lucky you manage to get tickets close enough to actually see the artist.
You sure are lucky if you can ACTUALLY see their facial features.
But now people have noticed that although the shows are sold out, there’s plenty of empty seats at the venue.
Both female singers Beyonce and Rihanna have recently performed at Wembley Stadium and are victims of this as fans noticed that half the seats we vacant.
As in, nada. Nobody was sitting there.
This definitely came as a shock considering both artists are world famous and arguably amazing performers.
But it has now been revealed that the stadium was empty because of ticket touts.
You may have heard of them or have experience with them. They buy tickets when they are released and then sell them on to make a HUGE profit. Usually, you can buy tickets from them online or outside the venue on the day of the gig but it’ll cost you a hell of a lot of money.
And it seems that it’s not only fans that noticed but the artists too. The Mumford & Sons manager, Adam Tudhope, told The Daily Mirror: "There’s nothing worse for the band playing a ‘sold-out’ show than looking out at empty seats because touts bought the tickets and tried to sell them on a secondary sites at massively inflated prices."
We sure do hope that this problem is sorted soon, because we don’t like spending lots of money on tickets.
