Despite the fact that Jay Z, 44, was reportedly asked to be Kanye’s best man, he and wife Beyonce, 32, did not show up to the wedding in Florence.

Rumours have been circulating as to why they didn’t attend, especially as Jay has spoken in the past about Kanye, 36, being ‘like a brother to him.’

Drunk In Love singer Beyonce seemed to make it very clear that she and her husband would not be going, by posting a make-up free selfie to Instagram as the wedding started.

According to reports, one of the main reasons Jay and Bey were no-shows is because designer Rachel Roy was in attendance.

Rachel was linked to Beyonce’s sister Solange’s attack on Jay after the Met Gala, the footage of which was leaked two weeks ago.

A source told Hollywood Life: “[Beyonce and Jay Z] weren’t sure about all of the media attention and it possibly being filmed for the show [Keeping Up With The Kardashians], but after the fight with Rachel at the Met, they decided to lay low.”

Another source added: “They would rather stay at home with Blue Ivy, prepare for the tour and just relax. A wedding like this would be a complete process that they really aren’t interested in getting involved in.”

However, Beyonce didn’t snub Kim, 36, altogether. She posted a picture from Kim and Kanye’s Vogue shoot on Instagram, with the caption: “Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family.”
