The attack happened in an elevator after the Met Gala and, unfortunately for the famous family, the whole thing was caught on camera.
Solange, 27, is said to have launched herself at Jay, 44, after he said he wanted to go to Rihanna’s after party without his wife, 32year-old Beyonce.
According to US reports, after Jay revealed his desire to attend the party with Beyonce, Solange snapped and said: “Why Can’t you go home?”
She then turned to her superstar sister and asked: “Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?”
The reports suggest that Jay retorted by saying to Solange, “You’re one to talk.”
It is thought that it was his reply that caused Solange to throw herself at the rapper, kicking and punching him while her sister looked on.
And apparently, Jay and Beyonce were not surprised at Solange’s outburst, as it isn’t the first time it has happened.
But Beyonce took to Instagram today to quash any rumours of a rift with her sister, before posting a picture of herself and Rihanna, 26, at the Met Gala which seemed to dismiss rumours the Umbrella singer had anything to do with the argument.
The snap shows the R&B singers at the Gala, with their arms around each other’s waist and smiling happily for the camera.
Beyonce, Jay and Solange are all yet to publicly speak of the event.
