Well her childhood sweetheart has claimed that if he didn’t cheat on her she would still be with him.
Lyndall Locke said: “I’ll be honest- it was me that messed everything up and lost her forever to Jay Z, but I deserved it”.
Lyndall, 33, has spoken about his former relationship with the superstar.
"From the first time I saw Beyonce I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She looked like an angel, the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen.”
“She would say to me all the time, ‘I’m afraid to ever live without you Lyndall, I want you to be mine forever’”.
“As we were so young at the time it was very innocent between us.
“But we still always found time for each other and I was never in any doubt about how much Beyonce loved me — she would tell me all the time.”
And Lyndall admits that he was stupid for cheating on the Crazy in Love singer. “Who cheats on a woman as beautiful as Beyoncé? Well I am that man and it’s something that’ll always haunt me”.
Lyndall, who met Beyoncé when she was 11 and he was 13, admitted to having a number flings because vowed to not have sex with him until they married.
'It was hard as the chemistry between us was electric, but I respected Beyonce and knew it was important for her to wait,' he admitted.
The couple became an item just after Beyoncé’s 15th birthday, but this was also the time when her career started to take off which Lyndall blames to an extent for their relationship breakdown.“It was honestly a dream come true. But immediately after their first single she became a workaholic, focusing all of her energy on her career”.
And while his girlfriend’s career was going from strength to strength, Lyndall found it hard to deal with Beyoncé’s success.
“The bigger star she became, the more I didn’t think I was god enough. One night, when she was out of town, I went to a bar with friends and ended up sleeping with another woman”.
He says he continued to cheat on Beyoncé but didn’t tell her until after they broke up.
Lyndall claims that she wrote the song Dangerously in Love about him but, when he decided to take a break from their relationship to focus on his own career, she moved on quickly.
In 2002, a few months after she and Lyndall broke up, Beyoncé met Jay Z. Lyndall says as soon as the couple got together he knew he had no chance to get back together with Beyoncé.
He said: “I will always wonder ‘what if?’ and, given all we shared, I’m sure a part of her must feel the same way.”
We can’t help but think that Lyndall might have been the inspiration behind Beyoncé’s hit ‘Best Thing I Never had’. Ooer.
