The 31-year-old singer and her husband Jay-Z, 43, welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy, in January last year.
'I'm protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life'
In an interview with ABC's Good Morning America on Monday, stressed the need to give her daughter a normal upbringing.
'I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life… in the back of my mind, she's my priority,' she said.
Although Blue Ivy is only 16 months old, she has been living a lavish lifestyle, accompanying her mother and father on first class trips across the globe.
The proud parents also celebrated their daughters first birthday with an extravagant princess-themed birthday party, decorated with £60,000 worth of white and pink roses and a cake costing £1,500 earlier this year.
It was also reported that the couple had splashed out on a £50,000 diamond encrusted Barbie Doll, specially customised with 160 diamond gems for the little tot on her birthday.

'And life is completely different now. So I'm - I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that's to be her mother.'
The Crazy In Love singer also recently credited her mum, Tina, for keeping her grounded.
Speaking during her Mrs Carter World Tour press conference in London on Saturday, she told a UK news website:
'I feel this (superstardom) is temporary and my public life when I'm performing on stage is just a few hours of the day’ before admitting:
'The rest of the day I'm with my family, I'm changing diapers and I'm with my mother who reminds me, "Girl, you are not a Queen." So it's good to have some balance.'
And the Single Ladies singer even hinted that she and Jay Z were ready for baby number two.
'Definitely I would like to have more children. Motherhood has changed everything,' she revealed.
