The campaign, founded by Gucci's designer Frida Giannini, along with friends Beyoncé and Salma Hayek, focuses on improving education, health and justice for women around the world.
Saturday’s concert, The Sound of Change Live, was attended by more than 50,000 people and put girls and women’s issues such as genital mutilation, domestic violence, maternal death and adult illiteracy on the world stage.

Beyoncé sang female empowerment hits ‘Single Ladies’ ‘Run The World (Girls),’ and Destiny’s Child classic ‘Survivor,’ sending the crowd into a frenzy when husband Jay-Z joined her on stage to perform ‘Crazy In Love.’
On the Chime for Change website, the 31 year-old singer and campaign ambassador’s statement reads: ‘I have always felt strongly about equal opportunity for women. Girls have to be taught from early on that they are strong and capable of being anything they want to be.’
She continues: ‘It's up to us to change the statistics for women around the world.’

Female singers Rita Ora, Jessie J, Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azelea also performed at the concert, as well R&B stars John Legend and Timbaland.
Jennifer Lopez was another big headliner at the concert, and was joined onstage by Mary J. Blige for a duet of the Beatles’ classic ‘Come Together.’
R&B stars John Legend and Timbaland also performed at the concert, while Madonna, Freida Pinto, Jada Pinkett Smith, Blake Lively, Jessica Chastain and feminist icon Gloria Steinem were among the presenters.
Hollywood heartthrobs James Franco and Ryan Reynolds also featured, and even Prince Harry sent a videotaped message of support.
