It's official; Thandie Newton is pregnant!
She confirmed the news herself while appearing at Toronto International Film Festival, saying it felt like “a blessing” and that she “can't wait until her new miracle is born in March”.
The Crash actress reportedly "couldn't be more happy" about becoming a mother for the third time, although it will be a while before we can start taking maternity fashion tips from Thandie:
"You can barely tell she has a bump and she's been dressing different because of it."
We have no doubt in our mind that Thandie, who is already a mother to her two daughters aged 8 and 13, is an inspirational mum. While speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Festival, she revealed her top parenting tip is to make her children feel powerful, "by feeling like that yourself. They look at you. You're defining yourself in so many ways."
The pregnant star is busily promoting her new movie Half Of A Yellow Son and, as well as making pregnancy announcements, waxed lyrical about the flick:
"I read the book years ago, it's Gone With The Wind in Nigeria... it's based on truth. It's phenomenal this terrible war that occurred in the '60s in Nigeria. I was in love with the book."
She describes the character she plays as "the most extraordinary woman I've ever played. She's a woman I aspire to be... she's not Oprah, she is a regular woman who does extraordinary things."
We can't wait to see it; there's nothing quite like seeing an empowering woman brought to life on the silver screen.
