The Sun reported that Ant was dining with mother Christine and his aunt when a gang of men started banging on the window and filming the TV presenter.

The 38-year-old then reportedly went outside to ask them to stop when he was grabbed around the head by one of the yobs.

When 58-year-old Christine intervened, she was pushed over by one of the gang members.

A witness said: ‘The youths were banging on the window, filming them and generally being a pain — and they just wouldn’t let it lie.’

‘Ant was completely reasonable and said, “Leave it out, lads, I’m just having a quiet meal.’

They continued: ‘But it immediately turned really nasty and one of them jumped on him and put him in a head-lock.’

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard revealed: ‘At 8.13pm on Thursday March 13 there were reports of an assault in Spencer Road, Chiswick.’

‘Police attended but no allegation was made and no one suffered any notable injuries.’
