They’re the ultimate presenting duo, so it’s no surprise that Simon Cowell would want to take Ant and Dec stateside to help with the American version of his talent show, the X Factor.
But it seems the Geordie lads aren’t keen to make the move.
Speaking to the Mirror, Declan Donnelley - AKA Dec – explained that they got a call several weeks back offering the comedy twosome a show across the pond, but it simple wasn’t for them.
Dec simply stated: “It’s not for us. It’s not the kind of thing we want to do.”
And pal Anthony McPartlin elaborated: “It was never really an ambition of ours to crack the States.
“We’re quite happy with what we’ve got here… When we have time off I think we just want to play a bit of golf.”
With Ant being happily married to his wife of ten years Lisa Armstrong, and Dec enjoying his first year of wedded bliss with partner Ali Astall, who he wed in august last year, it’s not surprising that the pair aren’t keen on the move abroad.
They already spend several weeks working in Australia each year filming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. But that can’t be the worse job, right?
But it’s seems that it’s not just the American version of music mogul Simon’s show they’ve shunned, as they’ve also said they wouldn’t work on the UK version X Factor either.
Ant told the Mirror that there’s “not a chance” of it, explaining:
“We’ve done Britain’s Got Talent and we work well with Simon Cowell and have done for years. We did the original Pop Idol, so I don’t think we could go back to do a singing show.
On Britain’s Got Talent we get that, but we get everything – magicians, jugglers, dogs. Once you’ve seen all that variety, I’m not sure we could do just singers again.”
