The 70-year-old made a name for herself as the cold host of The Weakest Link, and cashed in when the game show went stateside.

Now Anne has admitted that, while she's not sure of the exact amount, she thinks she's got over £50 million in the bank.

She told Event magazine: "No [it isn't £30 million]. I would like to think it is more than 50."

Anne's frank openness about her finances may shock some, and she admitted most find it' bottom-clenchingly embarrassing'.

But she added: "You'll discuss your sex life, your mother's dementia, your operations and whatever else at a dinner party, but people won't talk about money."

And what does the presenter spend her many millions on? Designer clothes, of course.

"I just buy what I want. Genuinely," Anne said. "I buy at Dover Street, Yves Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Marni… a lot of them are very expensive but I use them and get enormous pleasure out of them."

When asked how much she spends on clothes, Anne replied: "Erm… 50, 60 grand a year."

As well as a massive collection of Gucci and Prada, Anne also has properties in New York, the Hamptons and Gloucestershire.
