The inspirational 47-year-old has beat cancer twice, lives with Crohn’s disease and was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia aged 39 – but she still gives women half her age a run for their money.
Despite this, Anastacia has admitted to lying about her age during the early stages of her career.
Although she was 30 when her first record was released, the Left Outside Alone singer confessed to telling reporters she was 22.
Speaking to MailOnline, Anastacia said: “Journalists would be asking me when I was born and how old my sister was and I would panic. But everyone [in the industry] does it.
“I thought that was what you were supposed to do. I thought it meant that I had made it. But I really don’t know how people can keep up with the lie.”
Anastacia, who has sold over 80 million records worldwide, also discussed her previous obsession with Botox – and admitted her divorce from Wayne Newton in 2010 made her realise it needed to stop.
She said: “I went crazy for Botox in my 30s. I would get it done every three months. But right after my divorce, I realised I needed to stop.
“Now I love seeing my face move. I did it all too early and it was too much. Now I love a ponytail. When the hair is pulled back, I feel like Young-a-stacia.”
