The TOWIE girls - many of whom have enjoyed a helping hand from cosmetic surgery clinics - are horrified that The Harley Medical Group, a leading cosmetic surgery provider, has been targeted by a computer hacker.

Details of over 500,000 people - reportedly including several stars of The Only Way Is Essex - considering procedures have been stolen, with the hacker using the records to extort money from the clinic.

Amy Childs – whose two boob jobs were not undertaken by The Harley Medical Group – is nonetheless still horrified that people’s person information has been taken.

Speaking to The Sun she said: “I think it’s awful.

“If you’re in the public eye you have to discuss this, but if you’re not and it’s suddenly out there it must be terrible,” she added.

Lauren Pope was just as shocked as Amy to discover that client’s details – including ages, phone numbers and their addresses – were snatched.

“Having any sort of surgery is very personal. The thought of it going public is devastating,” she said.

The company carries out a range of cosmetic surgery from breast augmentations and reductions to facelifts and tummy tucks. It boasts to potential customers on its website: ‘Our No 1 goal is to look after you.’

A spokesman for the Harley Medical Group said: "We acted immediately when we became aware that an individual had deliberately bypassed our website security, gaining access to contact information from initial inquiries, in an attempt to extort money from the company.

"The police and the Information Commissioner were notified and we contacted everyone whose inquiry may have been accessed to apologise and to reassure them that all clinical and financial records remain totally secure.

"We have taken action to further strengthen the security around website inquiries."
