Singer Michael Johns – who rose to fame in the 2008 series of American Idol – died on Friday of a suspected blood clot after twisting his ankle.
According to TMZ, Michael saw a doctor on Thursday as he was complaining of a great deal of pain in his ankle after.
Sources said: "The swelling and bruising had made their way up to his leg."

Despite this, Michael was given the all-clear and ordered to go home.
The following afternoon his body was found on a couch unresponsive at a friend's house.

His family said in a statement: "Our family is devastated by the passing of our beloved Michael, a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle and friend."
Simon Cowell led the celebrity tributes to Michael, taking to Twitter to pay his respects.
"I just heard the very sad news that Michael Johns has passed away. A truly great guy. Rest in peace Michael."
"I'm heartbroken over the loss of @michael_johns. His enormous talent, gigantic heart and infectious personality will live in my heart forever," fellow judge Paula Abdul added.
Ryan Seacrest added: "Sad news for the idol family…one of our own @Michael_Johns passed away. A consistently kind guy with talent for days. We’ll miss you"
Added former judge Randy Jackson, who now serves as a mentor on the show: "So Sad. Too soon. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. RIP Michael Johns."

Michael Johns is survived by his wife Stacey Vuduris; our thoughts are with her and the rest of his loved ones.
