Fans are constantly in awe of her age-defying looks, with a recent social media pic showing her sunning herself in a bikini while on holiday sending them into meltdown.

But insiders say that, despite her youthful looks, Amanda Holden is planning to take some dramatic steps to stay looking ‘fresh’ – even going so far as to consider surgery in order to keep up with the younger competition.

‘Amanda says she has held back the years so far – her family make her feel confident and beautiful inside and out – but recently, mother nature’s been having her own way with her body,’ an insider tells Closer. ‘Amanda’s quest is for a little glow-up – a freshen and lift to look like she’s actually slept, rather than left out to dry overnight.

‘She’s up with the lark for her breakfast show, but says her face doesn’t come in until around midday. She’s on a quest for freshness, and would love to turn the clocks back just a bit – though nothing so drastic that she’s unrecognisable, or so obvious that she’s mocked by fans. She wants subtlety, but the wow factor too.’

Amanda, 54, has been in the public eye for around three decades, rising to fame as a TV actress back in the ’90s, and is now starring as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent plus hosting her renovation show with best pal Alan Carr. She also co-hosts a radio breakfast show with Jamie Theakston.

Over the years, Amanda – who is mum to daughters Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13, with husband Chris Hughes – has been open about any tweakments she has undergone. Back in 2008, the star admitted to using Botox after she started developing wrinkles in the corners of her eyes while filming Wild At Heart in South Africa, saying at the time, ‘Yes, I have had Botox... I was constantly frowning in the sun. I noticed crow’s feet coming and that’s when I had it.’

Other treatments favoured by the TV star include collagen wave facials. She’s said of them, ‘It’s done amazing things to my face. I’m a fan of various creams and potions, too, and lots of water – and wine!’ She also undergoes the non-invasive skin-tightening treatment Thermage, and uses a device that’s said to remould the fat under the skin called Morpheus8.

As well as taking collagen supplements, the radio presenter also underwent a non-surgical facelift known as EMface, which costs £600 a session, in summer 2023. Sharing a clip of the procedure with her followers, Amanda said at the time, ‘It sort of feels tickly here and I actually think if I left it on all night, I’d wake up like a 12-year-old.’ And while she has never admitted to having an intensive surgical procedure before, in 2009 Amanda admitted that she wasn’t opposed to having work done.

‘I’ll go under the knife in due course. I’ll have my eyelids lifted and probably have half a facelift under my chin,’ she said. ‘I’d never get my lips done as that would look really obvious.’

Our source continues, ‘Amanda is seriously considering taking the surgical plunge – there are only so many years you can hold back naturally. She says she’s now treading water, as the thought of surgery terrifies her, but she has accepted that a bit of nip and tuck is the only thing that is going to have any effect.

‘Amanda says Botox stops working at a certain age – it’s not the muscle failing you, it’s the quality of the skin. But she has seen some shocking examples of surgery, and wants to keep going down the non-surgical route until the eleventh hour.’

However, the insider adds that her friends and family are less keen for her to go under the knife.

‘Amanda looks incredible for her age,’ the source continues. ‘But being a realist, she knows she is in an industry where she is under the spotlight – ageing is OK, just don’t show your age on your face. She jokes that she needs a face to match her mental age, and she wants a face that she can “wash ’n’ go”.

‘However, the kids don’t want her to look plastic, they want her to keep it real. They think their mum looks amazing and doesn’t need any work, and don’t like the idea of it. But Amanda has reassured them that, should she decide to, she will do the research and make sure whatever she goes for is safe. She just wants to keep feeling as confident in her own skin as possible.’
