She’s a doting mum to her two daughters – Lexi, 17, and Hollie, 11 – but last week, Amanda Holden jetted off to a picturesque beach- side location for a romantic break alone with husband Chris Hughes.
Sharing a picture of herself looking stunning in a green bikini as she posed in front of an ocean view, Amanda, 52, wrote on Instagram, “Just me...my love and a few bikinis. Can’t remember the last time we had time alone”.
The couple have endured a whirlwind couple of months as they’ve juggled family life following Chris’ resignation from talent agency YMU – the company who had, until May, represented Phillip Schofield.
But now a source reveals how their much- needed break has spiced up their marriage.
The insider says, “Amanda and Chris are both the first to admit that sometimes their relationship can take a back seat to all their other commitments. So recently they made a plan to spend more time together – and it’s already working wonders.”
With Amanda’s hectic filming schedule for Britain’s Got Talent and her early- morning starts for her radio gig taking up plenty of time and energy, the insider says this latest getaway has provided a much-needed moment for Amanda and Chris to connect as a couple.
They add, “Amanda wanted time for going out for dinner, drinking wine, talking, relaxing and just having lots of fun together. They are the happiest they’ve been as a couple.
“She loves going out for dinner and getting dressed up and looking sexy for her man– Chris loves it and it helps keep the spark alive. They’ve promised a lot more nights and weekends away together as they don’t ever want their marriage to become boring and mundane.”
