Her show-stopping outfits, age-defying looks and killer body have become one of Britain’s Got Talent’s biggest talking points over the years – with judge Amanda Holden’s risqué wardrobe often overshadowing the show’s acts.
And now insiders say the 53-year-old mum of two has been going all-out to ensure she continues to wow fans and retain her sex symbol status.
A source says, ‘Amanda’s turned herself into a pin-up in her fifties and loves all the attention and praise. But with that comes a lot of pressure, so in the lead-up to filming, she ramps up the ante with her fitness, diet and beauty regime and turns it into a full-time job, which she’s militant about – doing whatever it takes to blow viewers’ socks off and hit the headlines.’

Amanda has previously suffered backlash for some of her more daring outfits – with TV standards watchdog OFCOM infamously receiving 663 complaints in 2017 for one of her looks. However, our source says, ‘She’s never paid any attention to it, but this year she’s going all-out to cause a sensation. She feels the best revenge on her haters and critics is to turn up the heat and give them something to talk about!’
The radio presenter – who’s married to producer Chris Hughes – recently said she endures thrice-weekly four-mile runs for her own “discipline and dignity”, as well as yoga and weight sessions.
The source says, ‘In the lead-up to filming, Amanda increases her workouts – getting in at least two to three hours of exercise a day so she tones every inch of her body, knowing she’ll want to bare as much skin as possible during the lives shows. If she has to, she’ll wake up at 5am to get in a run before doing strength-training and an hour of yoga later on in the day.’

The star pairs her intense exercise regime with a pescatarian diet, but insists she doesn’t restrict herself, saying, ‘You have to enjoy life. I eat and drink everything.’ And pals say while Amanda doesn’t believe in diets, she is extremely conscious about what she eats.
The source says, ‘Amanda works incredibly hard to maintain her figure and while she will indulge if she fancies something sweet, she also knows she can’t just wolf down her favourite chocolate eclairs and gorge on cheese and wine every night and expect to look the way she does.
‘Around three months before she starts filming, she’ll cut down her wine and sugar intake. Her diet will be sugar-free granola, muesli or avocado on toast, a juice or soup for lunch, then salmon with quinoa and veggies or sushi for dinner.’
And despite regularly shooting-down rumours she’s had plastic surgery, the insider tells Closer how the star spends thousands to acheive her youthful looks with the most advanced anti-ageing treatments used by Hollywood’s biggest A-listers.
The source adds, ‘Amanda is always one step ahead of the game when it comes to the newest, most effective treatments. She always follows what the likes of J.Lo and Jennifer Aniston are doing to ensure she’s not missing a beat when it comes to her beauty regimen, and insists money is no object when it comes to her looks.
‘In addition to her daily collagen supplements, she has collagen wave facials, microneedling, cold therapy, chemical peels and Morpheus8, which uses radio frequency to stimulate collagen and reduce wrinkles. She’ll fork out for the best cosmetics on the market, and is currently obsessed with Korean skincare.
‘BGT is Amanda’s big moment each year to really wow, so she’s militant about her regime and ensuring that she continues to blow everyone away once she’s back in the spotlight each week.’
