Amanda Holden claims that she is NOT impressed with X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s recent comments about body shaming.
Speaking in a recent interview, Cheryl made calls for body shaming to be illegal after she was trolled online for her slim-line frame.
She said: "I can take whatever they throw at me after 13 years, what worries me is what it’s doing to the younger generation. And some of the people writing this stuff are women. There is no sisterhood.
"The body-shaming has to stop. It’s b*******. Something has to be done, changed, even if it’s done in law."
Amanda, 44, branded Cheryl’s comments as ’stupid’, telling the Mail Online that being in the public eye makes you open to criticism.
She said: "It's a little stupid to say it should be illegal. Because where does it end? When you're in the public eye, you have to take the good with the bad."
The Britain’s Got Talent judge continued: “Like it or not, she wouldn't be on the panel if it wasn't for the papers. You can't complain. I think she's gorgeous anyway."
Cheryl, 32, hit the headlines again earlier this week after reportedly saying that being overweight shouldn’t be encouraged.
She told In Style magazine: "It's crazy double standards. You'd never be allowed to say to somebody, 'Oh, you look a bit fat.' And being overweight is unhealthy – it's actually a bad message to tell someone who is obese that they look 'curvy' or 'great’.”
