The star wrote the book ‘The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning’ using experiences from raising her 3-year-old son Bear Blu.

Not only does Alicia talk about her dislike of nappies, but she also doesn’t like babies sleeping in cots, which she describes as: ‘A barred-in box completely alone.’

Alicia prefers to share a bed with her son, writing: ‘Sharing a bed with your baby means you can tune in better to her needs, which in turn builds security and trust.'

Controversially, Alicia writes about her concern over having children vaccinated against diseases.

‘While there has not been a conclusive study of the negative effects of such a rigorous one-size-fits-all, shoot-'em-up schedule, there is increasing anecdotal evidence from doctors who have gotten distressed phone calls from parents claiming their child was 'never the same' after receiving a vaccine. And I personally have friends whose babies were drastically affected in this way.’

Though the Clueless actress writes about her alternative ideas about parenting, she states in the book that she doesn’t intend to ‘preach’ her lifestyle to other parents.

‘Everything that's in the book is there to show you why you might want to consider it but never to say you have to choose it, always just to give you information and show you that if you don't choose that, that's totally fine.’

Alicia set tongues wagging in 2012 when she uploaded a video of her feeding her son with pre-chewed food from her own mouth.
