Alexandra Burke was left heartbroken and humiliated in 2012 amid claims her footballer boyfriend Jermain Defoe cheated on her with model Laura Brown. But despite the scandal the singer, 25, - who also dated footballer Dominique Jean-Zephirin - tells Closer the experience hasn’t put her off finding love again with another celebrity.

She says: “I’ve not sworn off footballers – I just go with the flow when it comes to my love life. I’ve been single a couple of years now and am not bothered about men at the moment.”
As focuses on her lead role in The Bodyguard musical in London’s West End Alexandra Burke is adamant there’s no time to men despite being linked to Mr Selfridge star Jeremy Piven in 2013.
She says: “When I was photographed with Jeremy that was not a date – it was just two friends hanging out and I have a lot of time and respect for him. My love life is boring I don’t want to be distracted and my manager wont let anyone near me he wants me to focus on the show.”

Performing every night is not easy feat but the X Factor winner certainly isn’t afraid of hard work. But once Alexandra’s run comes to end she’ll waste no time before getting back to the recording studio.
She adds: “It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve what you want. I don’t want to go on a break after the Bodyguard instead I’m going to train with a chorographer in LA and I may get some down time then. After that I’ll focus on my new single and album and get back to making music.”
