Alexa Chung: ‘I weigh nothing and I feel really panicky’

Alexa Chung has faced criticism over her size in the past after her thin frame frame was reportedly being used as 'thinsipiration' for women with eating disorders.

But the 29 year-old has rarely spoken out about her weight - only to defend her ‘naturally’ slender figure – until now.

Alexa has revealed her recent concerns over her health.

‘Recently I was like: “Ah! I weigh nothing and I feel really panicky,’ she admitted.

Even the fashion world has noticed her shrinking frame, she told a UK magazine: ‘I met Karl Lagerfield and he asked: “Why are you so thin?”

‘”Becuause I’m stressed” I said. He said: “What have you got to be stressed about? You’re an ‘It’ girl.” To which I replied: “remaining It.”’

The former model and TV presenter cited her busy schedule and work commitments as the reason for her weight loss.

When I get stressed, I’m not hungry

‘I take on too much because I always think it’s going to go away… When I get stressed, I’m not hungry,’ she said.

And when her mum checks up on her to see whether she has been eating, she invariably answers: ‘I forgot.’

How do you know I’m not looking in the mirror and going: “I wish I could gain 10lb?”

Last year, the fashionista hit back at the criticism she receives over her size, suggesting that she doesn’t choose to be skinny.

‘How do you know I’m not looking in the mirror and going: “I wish I could gain 10lb?” Which is actually quite often the case,’ she said.

But Alexa, who has her own book ‘It’ on the shelves, claimed that she is now in a good place after going through a painful breakup with Arctic Monkeys’ frontman Alex Turner.

‘It’s really nice,’ said the singleton, ‘I feel calm. Calm and hungry.’
