Alex Jones ‘overwhelmed’ by support after announcing pregnancy

The presenter is expecting her first child with husband Charlie

Alex Jones has thanked fans for their messages of congratulations after she announced she is expecting her first child with husband Charlie on Friday.

She posted on Twitter: "Overwhelmed by all your messages of congratulations and love. Such a warm feeling. A huge thank you from us both. Diolch. On cloud 9! Xx."

Appearing on The One Show just hours after her big announcement Alex admitted: "Lots of you had guessed – I’d been trying to breathe in, but now the secret’s out I can relax. And breathe out.

"I've had no sickness and no tiredness. I feel great!"

the star shared the exciting news on Twitter just months after admitting her fears that she may not be able to have children.

The 39-year-old presenter tweeted and uploaded a photo (on Instagram) of a babygro with the words "Coming Soon" on the front along with the caption: "Charlie and I are very happy to confirm that we're expecting a little baby in the new year.

"Absolutely delighted and feel very lucky that we're about to become parents. #andbreatheout #newbabyalert"

Fans and fellow stars sent their congratulations messages via the social networking site.

Michael Ball lead the way as he wrote: "Thrilled to bits for you both lovely girl. What amazing parents you'll make."

Davina McCall posted: "oh Alex!!!!! That's great news!!!!!!" While Gethin Jones added: "wonderful news Al! Llongyfarchiadau massive to you and Charlie x."

Alex and charlie first met in 2011 and got married on New Year's Eve last year.
