With it being both Adele’s first tour show since 2011 and a leap year, it’s safe to say that last night was a rare occasion indeed.

As many of us know, according to tradition, February 29 is the one day every four years that women are encourage to propose to their partners – although, seeing as it’s 2016, we say feel free to get down on one knee any day of the year, ladies!

And of course the highly anticipated evening took an interesting turn as the Hello singer invited an eager fan to propose to her boyfriend – on stage!

In the SSE Arena in Belfast last night, the mum-of-one invited the hopeful romantic to the stage to get her to ask for her partner’s hand in marriage – despite him already giving her a half-hearted ‘maybe’ earlier in the day. Hmm…

But as the crowd chanted ‘Come on Neil!” he couldn’t help but give in and say yes to his hopeful now-fiancée.

The gentleman in question definitely got more than he bargained for, as the Someone Like You songstress invited herself along to the wedding – a welcome guest we’re sure.

She also shouted her praise to X Factor boss, Simon Cowell, for helping her along her career.

She explained that is was when he put Make You Feel My Love on the contestant’s song lust that it really blew up.

The performance comes just a week after the singer scooped four awards at the Brits last week. She took home the Brits for Best British Female Solo Artist Award, Best Single Award for comeback song ‘Hello’, Brits Global Success Award, and the Mastercard British Album Of The Year Award for her third album, 25.
