An invite to the Oscars is something pretty much no one would turn down, except if you’re Adele. It’s reported the multi-award winning singer has snubbed an offer to present an award at the glitzy ceremony in Los Angeles on 28 February because it clashes with the start of her tour, which kicks off the next day.

“Organisers are desperate to get her and will still do anything to make it happen but she feels the turnaround is too tight and will not let anything jeopardise her tour,” an insider told the Mirror.

“She is aware things can go wrong which causes delays and also the potential impact of a long flight on her voice. She has dug in her heels on this one.”

Adele’s touring schedule is pretty demanding and the Hello singer will cross the globe, with her son Angelo and her team, to perform at huge venues.

After her comeback late last year with her record breaking album, 25, the singer admitted she was nervous about making a return to the industry.

“I wrote a lot of songs that didn't make the album because they simply weren't good enough and I didn't believe in them myself, so my confidence was really getting knocked,” Adele admitted.

“I did pretty much write an album about being a mum, but that's boring, so I scrapped it.”

Her first single, Hell, spent 10 weeks at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and is certain to pick up plenty of awards.
