Most mothers are particularly protective of their first baby, but for Emmerdale star Adele Silva there’s even more reason to be proud of her firstborn daughter.
Before giving birth to Sienna Evie 3 months ago, Adele suffered the unimaginable trauma of losing three babies.
Speaking to The Mirror, the 34-year-old said: “When I first saw her, I just sobbed. Holding Sienna in my arms was amazing. I just never, ever thought we’d get there... I fell pregnant once a year for three years, and lost each baby.
“The last was the hardest because it was past three months and we thought it was safe. It was a day before our 12-week scan.”
Adele managed to carry her baby full term and gave birth to Sienna 11 days past her due date. The bouncing baby girl weighed a healthy alb 12oz.
The actress and partner Oliver were thrilled to finally be parents to their ‘miracle’ baby.
Adele is able to bring some of her own personal experiences to her Emmerdale character Angela Brown, who is sadly unable to have her own children.
The mum-of-one said: “I love being a mum, every day is such a big learning experience.
“But you don’t have to give birth to be a mum. I think is an important message and the one I think I would say to anyone in the position that my character Angela is in.”
