The Emmerdale star, 34, is just six weeks away from her due date - which for most women means a time of excitement.
But tragically for Adele, her past experience with pregnancy has been anything but happy.
The star, who is engaged to businessman Oliver Farber, suffered three miscarriages in a row previously, and is terrified history will repeat itself once more.
‘It’s always at the forefront of my mind, something could happen, because there’s a hell of a lot of people out there who are a lot worse off than I am’ she told Lorraine.
‘I’ve never truly allowed myself to get really excited,’ the star admitted.
Silva paid for private medical tests to discover the cause of her miscarriages. Doctors revealed that the actress has a form of thrombophilia, meaning her blood doesn’t clot properly.
She also had ‘elevated killer cells’ - which means her immune system often confuses the embryo for a foreign body and fights to rid the body of it.
And to make matters worse Adele also had an underactive thyroid.
Adele has described her pregnancy as ‘bittersweet’ so far, as she’s just been waiting to get through to the next stage.
‘I want this to be a success story,’ she said. ‘I know it sounds awful but i wasn’t remotely excited before my five-month scan.’
‘I know I’m extremely lucky to get this far.’
