The 27-year-old said the happiness of welcoming little Angelo, now three, made writing her current album even harder – because she knows her fans don’t want cheery music!

Appearing on The Today Show, Adele explained: “I’ve never been happier and I’ve never been healthier. So I’m good.”

Discussing the production of 25, which has already sold millions of copies and broken records worldwide in just two weeks, she added: “I found it impossible for a while. I didn’t know what I wanted to write about. What’s wrong is I wasn’t sad.”

Speaking to i-D magazine earlier this year, during her first interview in three years, the Someone Like You singer admitted parenthood was not as she’d expected it to be.

She said: “It’s fking hard. I thought it would be easy. Everyone fking does it, how hard could it be?”

But, despite this, and all of her success, having Angelo is Adele’s proudest achievement. She added: “I had no idea. It is hard but it’s phenomenal. It’s the greatest thing I ever did. He makes me be a d**khead, and he makes me feel young and there’s nothing more grounding than a kid kicking off and refusing to do what you’re asking of them.

“It used to be that my own world revolved around me, but now it has to revolve around him.”
