Sister of Eastenders actress Gillian Taylforth is devastated after being diagnosed with skin cancer.

Since hearing the news, the also actress Kim Taylforth, has had to have three growths removed from her face.

The 59-year-old told The Mirror about her horrifying ordeal, ‘When I sent the picture to Gilly of the scar on my forehead - it looks like a bullet wound - she rang me crying.’

"She sat with me when I came out of hospital after having the one on the side of my nose removed.

"My family are amazing – throughout any crisis, we’re there for one another."

Since the diagnosis, Kim is undertaking photodynamic therapy and is due to appear on Lorraine as part of a new skin cancer awareness campaign.

Kim admitted that as a teenager she would slather on baby oil to try and get a tan. She hopes her story will warn others from the dangers.
