In news that might make fans of noughties pop a little sad / ridiculously excited, Abz from 5ive is selling his Brit Award for Newcomer Best Pop Act 2000 on eBay.

The 36-year-old posted his gong on the auction site Monday morning, letting slip that the reason he’s selling it is to buy some top soil and gardening tools for his farm.

eBay, unable to contain their excitement, took to Twitter to announce the unusual addition to their listings.

"Everybody Get Up and give @Abzlove a hand on the farm,” they said (nice work on the lyrical referencing there, eBay).

“He's selling a #BritAward on #eBay!”

If you follow the link through to the eBay listing, you’ll find that Abz has helpfully listed a few choice details about his gong.

Check it out:

  • You are viewing one real deal Brit award for newcomer best pop act 2000 awarded to Abs ex Five rapper, star of hit BBC2 show ‘Abz on the Farm’, Big Reunion and runner up CBB12.

  • No more awkward silences when people come over to your house!! This is a real conversation piece even if you didn't win it! Guaranteed 100% real.

  • Take advantage of my poverty and grab this rare opportunity to own a bit of pop history!!

  • Has been dropped and knocked a few times and is currently being used as a door stop.

  • Has been held by Jason Statham although I can not prove this.

JASON ACTUAL STATHAM, GUYS!!!

However, despite the VERY generous offer of free postage and packaging, and despite the fact the bid started at a measly 99p, things have escalated quickly.

And, despite many 5ive fans rushing to purchase the golden gong, it seems as if Abz’s Brit is going to go straight onto the shelves of one of the rich and famous.

Yup, you guessed it; at the time of writing this article, the bid total was a whopping £1,000,500.

That’s worth a LOT of topsoil, we bet.

If you have a cool couple of mill to spend, mind you, there’s still time to get involved.

Bids close on Monday 14 September. Help a brother out, yeah?
