Michelle Watt, who is the daughter of boxing legend Jim Watt, passed away on Wednesday night at her luxury home in Airth, Stirlingshire.

She lived in the property with her husband, Paul Kerr, 43, and their five-year-old daughter Jaymi.

Tragically this is the second of Jim Watt’s children to pass away, with him losing son Jaymi in a car crash back in 1995, when the boy was just 17.

Michelle rose to fame after presenting a number of TV shows - most notably 60 minute makeover, Club Cupid, and STV’s The Hour. She was also a newspaper columnist, with many high profile friends in the showbiz industry.

Pal Lorraine Kelly tweeted her shock on Friday morning, writing: 'Absolutely shocked to hear of death of Michelle Watt. Lovely woman and a fantastic mum. Thoughts with her family and everyone who loved her.'

Both Jim and his wife Margaret, who live near Glasgow, were too upset to speak on Thursday evening, but Comedian Des Clarke, who co-hosted Club Cupid with Michelle, gave a statement on his devastation.

He said Michelle: ‘Had an infectious personality and was always smiling.’

‘She was just really fun to be around and such a lovely, genuine person and so hardworking.’

He added: ‘She was a beautiful looking girl and so full of joy.’

‘People who knew her knew that she lit up every room - and that light has now gone out. I can’t believe it.’

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Michelle’s death, though an official cause of death has not yet been released.
