While tattoos are amazing ways to showcase your individuality and creativeness, not everyone is lucky enough to show theirs off all the time.

But, whether you have to cover yours for work, for a family event, or you just fancy a day off from your ink, there is a way to make yours temporarily disappear.

This clever tutorial video, shared by YouTube’s amazing Nibbles Official{ =nofollow}, shows us exactly how we can use simple makeup from the high street to make our tattoos vanish before our eyes.

To do this yourself at home, you will need:

Watch the video first, before reading the step-by-step guide below:

    The step-by-step guide:

**STEP 1: **Shave the area, if needed.

**STEP 2: ** Cover the area with moisturiser or primer.

STEP 3: Blend a little cream foundation (that matches your natural skin colour) onto your tattoo, to create an even tone.

STEP 4: Take either an orange or pink eyeshadow (depending on your skin tone) and apply over the whole area.

***REMEMBER: *Pad it on, don’t wipe it.

STEP 5: Once the area is covered, take hairspray and apply.

*REMEMBER: Allow it to completely dry before continuing.

***STEP 6:**Add another layer of eyeshadow, and add another layer of hairspray.

**STEP 7: **Dab concealer over the coloured area. This may take a while to do, but digging - not wiping - gets the best coverage.

**STEP 8:**Apply hairspray again to dry, before swiping your concealer directly onto the foot.

STEP 9: Start blending outwards, so that the finished look is as natural as possible.**

    **

STEP 10: Using your finger, pat around the outside edge. Then apply hairspray, and add another layer of concealer.

**STEP 11: **Again, use your fingers to blend.

STEP 12: Using a brush, apply a powder (ideally as close to your natural skin tone as possible) to the area.

STEP 13: Reapply concealer to any areas you think need it - and voila!

The important thing with covering a tattoo is to make sure you set the makeup with a generous amount of powder; this will help prevent colour transfer and help it to last all day.

BONUS TIP: Add another spritz of hairspray to the covered area if it is on your body, to help prevent it rubbing off with sweat.
