Decide on the look you’d like to achieve – rich brown eyeliner is great for everyone and creates an intense sultry look without the harsh effect of black.

Use a small firm brush like this one

Start working on your eyeliner after your foundation, brows and eyeshadow if you are wearing any.

I often draw the line on in pencil liner and then go over the top with a cream to give a long-lasting effect. An eye primer will also help to allow the product to glide on smoothly.

Brown eyeliner gives eyes a softer look

Let your lashes guide your brush along the lash line – tilt your head back so that you can see the roots of the lashes and really get the product into the lash line and have no gaps between the lash line and the product.

Correct any mistakes with a pointed cotton bud dipped in eye makeup remover and don’t forget practice makes perfect so if you have a special event coming up, make sure you’ve mastered the technique in time.
