Set in the heart of Newmarket, Suffolk, The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotelis a perfect escape– whether you fancy a relaxing day trip or a longer stay.
The newly opened spa boasts ten treatment rooms, a couples treatment suite, a smallish but smart hydrotherapy pool with five water experiences, an outdoor rooftop hot tub, sauna, steam room, experience showers, relaxation room, Rasul, Hammam and ice fountain.
Treatments range from massages to facials to manicures and pedicures – and include options for men.
We opted for a full body massage, which was heavenly.
The spa is located within a gorgeous Victorian building and is completely self contained – which does mean you can’t really hop between the hotel and spa in your slippers and robe (unless you’re very brave).
But it does mean the Spa feels like a real oasis of calm, especially as the hotel is a popular venue for conferences.
The changing rooms are stunning – and the Espa toiletries make you feel really pampered.
Our only quibble is there isn’t much room to actually get changed!
If you’re feeling peckish you could treat yourself to lunch in the Spa Lounge. Choose from a menu of delicious light-ish bites or treat yourself to tea and cake!
The four star hotel has 77 bedrooms and suites - all equipped with tea making facilities and a TV.
The hotel’s stylish restaurant Squires serves up typically British fare and much of it is sourced locally.
You won’t be disappointed by the standard of the food – it’s delicious!
With prices starting £290 for two people for an overnight stay, you can’t go far wrong.
