New season lip colour – go orange

Orange may not be the obvious choice when it comes to lipstick ladies, but we promise that once you’ve found the right shade for you, it’ll fast become your new favourite colour! This trend was big news across spring summer catwalks, and celebrities including Kate Bosworth are already flashing a little zest right now.

Find your perfect colour, and it will instantly lift your look for the new season, as well as brightening up the grey days until summer comes!

When it comes to picking the right tone for you, it’s definitely down to trial and error. Test out a few shades before deciding, and don’t be put off if the first one your try is a bit harsh, as it can be a hard look to pull off. If you have naturally pale skin tone, opt for a softer, powdery peach shade whereas if you have darker skin, go all out with a colour pop.

Orange is such a stand out colour that it’s always best to keep the rest of you makeup soft, and pared back. A bright eyeshadow is a definite no no with this trend, as it’ll leave you looking a little bit clown like. Keep it chic with a natural palette and minimal blusher.

Here our favourite three zingy lip colours – go on girls, give it a go!

Bourjois Lip Crayon in Orange Punch £7.99

Chubby crayons are a quick and easy way to work a colour, and this one will give you a semi sheer hint of colour whilst keeping your lips moisturised and soft.

Maybelline Color Sensational in Vivids Electric Orange £6.99

This uber bright lippie will really pop against darker skin tones – the ultimate way to work it!

Barry M in Peach £4.99

This slightly softer take on zest will suit paler skin tones, and is a slightly more wearable shade for those a little daunted by strong colours.
