Start by ensuring your legs are smooth and hair free, creating the perfect base for applying fake tan or body shimmer. Follow this by mixing some body oil with a moisturising cream and apply evenly over your legs to really seal in the moisture. This is great for intense skin hydration and perfect for getting your legs prepped for the Christmas party!

On the night, it’s all about clever shading to really enhance the shape of your legs. Concentrate on the calves by shading the area just underneath the muscle to give your legs added definition. For this use a foundation or matte bronzer.

If you’re wearing a short dress, make sure you keep the skin around your knees looking soft and supple. Simply apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the area to keep knobbly knees at bay!

Finally, sweep some body shimmer down your legs to lengthen and give you that celeb-worthy glow! Slip into your favourite pair of heels and rock the Christmas party as if it were your very own red carpet!

Begin by gently backcombing small sections of the hair at the roots, then using a bristle brush, smooth out the surface of the hair. This will create a neat, but volumised base for your look.

Next, tie a loose ponytail in your desired position, low in the nape. I like to go for one side for a more dramatic finish just below one ear. For a modern twist, you can even try a plait in place of the ponytail for added texture.

Then, using grips, gradually pin the mid-length of your ponytail or plait round onto itself, creating a low chignon. Each time you do this, the style will look slightly different so if at first it doesn’t look quite right, take the pins out and try again until it’s perfect!
