The key to creating this fresh-faced look is to not overload the skin. This look won’t work if you pile on the foundation, bronzer and powder and then start adding freckles; it’ll look too overdone.
You want to look as if you’ve barely got a scrap of make up on, while still looking jaw-droppingly pretty. Easy, right?
Start by getting your complexion right with a good cleanser. Try a foaming wash like Visibly Clear’s Spot Stress Control for that squeaky clean feel, then add a glow inducing moisturiser like Olay Regenerist Illuminating Lotion, or Botanics Radiance Balm All Bright, which instantly lifts skin.
If you need a little cover up, we recommend Clarins Instant light Complexion Boosting Base, which looks super natural whilst covering any redness or pigmentation.
Now you’ve got your base, it’s time to apply the freckles. There are several options here.
& Other Stories have a two-tone freckle pencil fit for purpose which is great for creating the look, but in honesty you can just use a brown pencil for your eyes offered by most make up brands.
The key is not to go too dark, or shimmery, as natural freckles do not have a sheen to them!
A great thing about the look is that freckles are uneven, and they are different shades, so you don't have to be too precise when trying to emulate the effect of natural freckles.
Once you have applied the number you want, gently pat over the top of them to get the edges a little more blended.
When you’re done, you should set the freckles so that they don’t disappear within an hour. Powder is not recommended as this will make some of the smaller ones disappear, instead use a setting spray, like this one from Cheeky.
